How to do your own facial at home

RISHI VEDA HOME FACIAL METHOD

I always encourage my clients (men and women) to do a mini facial on themselves at home at least once a week in between their facial sessions with me at my Mayfair studio.  The key to a good facial treatment is preparing and cleansing the skin thoroughly so that the oils and serums that you use after can be delivered deep within the skin to work their magic.

Here is a simple yet effective routine that I recommend my clients to carry out so we can keep their skin looking and feeling healthy.

PREPARATION

Large bowl filled with hot water from the kettle (you can add a couple of drops of your favourite essential oil or a slice of lemon/lime or mint)

Clean towel to place over your head

A peaceful spot to do your treatment and relax

PRODUCTS

Rishi Veda The Perfect Cleanse

Rishi Veda Face Oil

Rishi Veda Water Serum

METHOD

Gently warm your skin by splashing it with hot water to open your pores and soften your skin. Pat skin dry.

Take a 20p size of The Perfect Cleanse onto the balls of your finger tips apply to the whole face, neck and décolleté massaging in firm, circular upward motions. Massage the skin for a few minutes and finish by rinsing the skin with warm water to remove.

Now you are ready to gently steam the skin – hover your face over the bowl of hot water and place a towel over your head to trap the heat. For sensitive skin, steam for 5 minutes and for congested skin, up to 10 minutes.

After steaming, pat your skin dry and apply a 20p size amount of skin polish to face, neck and décolleté. For a quick exfoliation simply massage the granules in a small circular motion for a few minutes and rinse.  For a more intensive exfoliation you can leave the skin polish on like a mask for up to 5 minutes and then remove by massaging the grains and rinsing. Finish by patting your skin dry.

Apply a thin layer of Mud Pulp to your face, neck and décolleté. Place some cool slices of cucumber or cotton pads soaked in milk over the eyes and relax allowing the mask to work for up to 15 minutes.

To remove the mask, gently massage skin in small circular motions – this will lift and roll the mud off the skin whilst releasing nourishing oils to condition the skin. Rinse skin with warm water and pat dry.

Finish by massaging your skin with a couple of drops of face oil followed with a seal of water serum. For best results take it easy for the rest of the day and put your feet up 😉
